VALLEY ELQUI

It is located 62 km. from La Serena.

It is one of the most visited destinations. For this valley passes the river Elqui leading into the beaches of La Serena.

It is recommended that you visit Vicuña, Gabriela Mistral village where he was born, and Monte Grande where she spent her childhood, there can visit your school, home and tomb.

Also you can visit the plants where they make pisco and know the process of making this distilled from grapes.

NATIONAL PARK PENGUIN OF HUMBOLDT

It is located 130 km. from Serena.

There are three islands, Chañaral, Dama and Choros, here you can find beautiful beaches with turquoise water and white sand.

From the cove of Punta de Choro You can board and travel for those islands, only Dama Island can you be down and walk the trails, sunbathing. In this tour you will see sea lions, otters, bottlenose dolphins and Humboldt penguins.

VALLEY LIMARÍ:

It is located 86 km. from La Serena.

This valley is known for producing great wine, that is why it is recommended to make the tourist wine route Limarí.

PARK FRAY JORGE:

It is located 108 km. from Serena.

Festivals and Ceremonies

  • Sailing Festival: Feast in honor of Our Lady of Health, and are made from 14 to 18 August, it begins on the night of 14 with fireworks.
  • Carnival: Held in late February.
  • Pilgrimage of San Isidro: From 14 to May 15. Venerates the patron saint San Isidro, 14 days camping and enjoy the party and the drink, the next day a procession and then celebrated Mass, ending with dancing and contests.
